Did You Know???

“All Hail To Thee Dear Compton High!”

Our Alma Mater is currently being demolished. The demolition began June 1, 2021. The new state-of-the-art campus has an estimated date of completion of 2024.  Here is what’s left of the building to the West. 


Did you know that Don Manual Dominguez is the patriarch of the Dominguez family and owner of Rancho San Pedro? In the 1850s, he gave a wedding gift of 4600 acres to his favorite niece on her wedding day that Lynn would one day become the city of Compton. That land would one day become the city of Compton.

Peer Into The Past

The Tower Theatre located at 111 N. Long Beach Blvd. opened in August 1935. It was located on the west side of the street just North of Compton Blvd.


Downtown Compton Back in the Day!

During the 60’s and  70’s Downtown Compton was a major business district and the home to many companies. On the weekends the streets would be filled with shoppers. Can you identify some of the former businesses?
